CASTING CAFE
A restaurant with a talking name "Casting', with an area of 140 m², is located in the former office, in the building of the "Oktyabr" movie theater on Novy Arbat street. After placing all the necessary professional equipment, the question of the layout disappeared by itself — we got a rectangular hall in which it was necessary to place 50−55 seats.

The guests of "Casting" are visitors of the cinema of different ages. "We decided to mix references to the interiors of the cult series Twin Peaks with allusions to the 70s and add modern accents to the space," said Vladislav and Vasily. "After the dismantling, a concrete ceiling and a wall passing through the entire room were discovered — we decided to leave them. The concrete wall was painted by the famous street art artist from St. Petersburg, Misha Uteev. The idea was to create associations with the streets of Berlin or Brooklyn. The wall, as an element of modernity, has become a key element of the interior — the rest of the space is formed around it."
The Twin Peaks theme in the restaurant is red curtains, wood paneling and black and white flooring. More precisely, the scarlet curtain is not only a connection with the series, but also an association with the old cinema. A large screen with a spotlight hints at this, too.
All the chairs in the restaurant are European models of the 60−70s, restored by craftsmen from Mebeldom company. Tables and sofas were made to order according to the sketches of the designers. Indoor lighting is from the brands Artlight, Centrsvet, Vibia.
In fact, we are proud of being able to convince the customer to do everything as we wanted: to create references to the cinema and Twin Peaks, to add a bright concrete wall. We do not just make an unusual interior. Everything must be explainable, following some certain logic.
